Part 1: Picking a Destination

After you have picked a destination, your next step will be booking your flights and choosing places to stay. You can refer to my recent post on flying cheap (or free) to see the best ways to get cheap flights. In booking places to stay, you need to ask yourself a few questions:

  1. What is your budget?
  2. How much are you willing to walk/use public transit?
  3. What kind of place do you want to stay at?
  4. What is a must have and what can you compromise on?

Asking yourself these questions should help you narrow down the type of accommodation you are looking for. These can include:

  1. Hotels
  2. B&Bs
  3. AirBnbs
  4. Hostels
  5. Camping
  6. Couchsurfing

Once you have narrowed down the specific types of accommodations that you would like to consider, I love the following websites to further narrow down your options:

Now the world is your oyster! Make sure to use plenty of filters when searching through the above sites to ensure that you are getting exactly what you are looking for. And when you find a gem, make sure you are ready to book immediately! When it comes to amazing places to stay, they truly are here today, gone tomorrow.

Happy travels!
